The Directorate of Casinos of the Ministry of Finance of the Dominican Republic, the Ibero-American Corporation of Lotteries (CIBELAE), regulators from Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, the Dominican Association of Casino Gaming (ADCJ), and major suppliers of casino equipment, online gaming platforms, traditional lottery, sports betting, and renowned Dominican companies are gearing up to participate in GAT Showcase Santo Domingo.

Next week, on September 18 and 19, the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino will host an academic and commercial event aligned with the current development of the industry. This follows the recent regulation of online gaming, marking a turning point in the history of gaming and betting in the Caribbean country, which shows positive growth figures. The latest report from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) concludes that the economy of the Dominican Republic has grown by 23.2% in recent years, boosting the indicators in the Central American region.

Gaming & Technology Expo has brought together entrepreneurs and industry leaders from the Dominican Republic and neighboring countries in three consecutive events held in 2021, 2022, and 2023 in Punta Cana, featuring a strong academic component and exhibition booths. In 2024, the organization responded to the suggestion of local operators and authorities to move the event to the nation's capital.

GAT Events highlights that for the first time, Claudia Álvarez Troncoso, Director of Casinos and Gambling, will participate as a special guest in the academic agenda with a presentation titled Regulatory Progress in Gambling Supervision in the Dominican Republic. She will share the stage with Esmeralda Britton from Costa Rica’s Social Protection Board, Juan Carlos Santaella Marchán from the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, Javier Milián, President of CIBELAE and the National Lottery of El Salvador. Additionally, the Innovation and Development Manager of Lotería de Concepción from Chile, invited by CIBELAE and GAT Events, will also be in attendance.
