What will be the future of gambling? What will be the new challenges that the sector will have to face? And above all, what will be the role of regulatory bodies? These are just some of the topics discussed during the International Association of Gambling Regulators conference, Iagr 2024, which will be held in Rome from today, 21 October, until 24 October at the Parco dei Principi.
In a world strongly influenced by technological changes and where artificial intelligence is gaining ever greater strength, the regulatory landscape of legal gaming is constantly evolving. So, needless to say that in this scenario where the exchange of ideas is becoming ever faster, international regulations are playing an increasingly crucial role.

In times of great transformation, sharing and tracing a common path becomes fundamental for the growth of a complex and varied sector such as gaming. For this reason, this four-day event becomes an opportunity for discussion that is the basis of progress in a fast and dynamic sector such as gaming.

In this regard, Ben Haden, President of Iagr, stresses that "in an era where technology is rewriting the rules of our industry, the question is not whether we can adapt, but how quickly we can do it. Every day brings new progress and, with it, new challenges and opportunities. By joining hands across borders, we not only keep pace with change; together we shape the future of gaming regulation".
The topic related to the importance of certifications is among the main topics addressed during the conference, a session that highlights best practices, the adaptation of regulations to the digital world and that addresses the regulatory challenges of online gaming. The topic of cybersecurity is added to that, which is very topical today in a world where online is gaining more and more power.

Furthermore, a panel dedicated to artificial intelligence and how regulators can get ready to regulate a sector increasingly driven by this new technology could not be missed . Responsible gaming is crucial too, with a panel dedicated to the concept of self-exclusion, and also the fight against illegality, a cornerstone for a good regulation of the sector.

In addition to this, it must be said that the common thread of Iagr 2024 is linked to an international vision of the gaming sector, with insights into the prospects for cooperation in the near future. Therefore, the analysis of the jurisdictions and the changes that the different regions of the world are experiencing in this period is crucial. There is also space for a focus on Italy, the host country of the event, which this year began the long-awaited gaming ‘regulation', starting from online. Therefore, a panel dedicated to Italy, where the presence of the director of games of the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli, Mario Lollobrigida, stands out. Various important figures are also present as speakers at the event, starting from Andrew Rhodes, Ceo at the British Gambling Commission, Anders Dorph, director of the Danish Gambling Authority, Mark Pace, vice president at Igsa and Ceo at Gsa Europe. Together with them, many other representatives of the gaming sector from the most different parts of the world, who enrich four days full of content.
