That Italy represents a reference market and of extreme interest for the rest of the world is a well-known fact for those who work within the gaming industry. But today this assumption becomes even more true in light of the work in progress, at a regulatory and legislative level, which is preparing to revolutionize the entire sector.

Starting from the now imminent tender for the renewal of online concessions, up to the reorganization process that will have to concern the entire sector.

So the "Italian case" returns to being a central theme, at an international level, to be explored in depth. This is where the debate organized by Gioco News within the Sbc Summit Lisbon was born, in collaboration with the organizing team of the event. With a panel entitled: “The new era of Italian gaming market", on the agenda today, September 26, the third day of the event and the one with the most in-depth analysis on the content side, on the central stage. A testimony to the interest that is placed towards our country, considered by many to be a trend topic.

Italy, as the second European gaming market, is facing a profound review of regulations after the Government introduced radical changes, including the expiration of all online licenses at the end of this year and new regulations on advertising and data security”, reads the abstract of the conference. Before posing a sharp but concrete question: “Will these changes stifle the growth of the sector or will they provide an incentive for the strongest operators and affiliates to reach the top?”.

A theme that will be developed and explored through a series of experts and protagonists of the Italian market, such as the CEO of Microgame Marco Castaldo and the lawyer Stefano Sbordoni, a face known to the industry even outside the national borders, who is asked to illustrate and introduce in a comprehensive manner the change at a regulatory level that the industry is preparing to face in our country. Even if, as the lawyer explains, "the reform of the Italian gaming system is still a cocoon, but it is already producing effects on the market. The turbulence is tangible: let's see what happens when the cocoon becomes a chrysalis". And he adds: "Sbc Summit Lisbon fits perfectly into the chronology of this process and the Italian panel represents a good opportunity to analyze it with illustrious experts".

In fact, it must be said, if the importance of the Italian gaming market at an international level is clear, it is equally evident how central the Sbc event is within the global gaming panorama. As is well known to all, the level of content hosted within the events organized by the British group, which have always placed the conference part in the foreground compared to the exhibition part, setting up over time events capable of inspiring, and not only (in)forming industry professionals, with a quality proposal.

All the more reason to host a debate dedicated to Italy within this event, with the Lisbon Summit which, in addition to representing the flagship for the Sbc group, also presents itself as one of the main events in the global industry agenda.
